GrainSpan forged ahead into the renewable energy sector in 2022. Recognizing ethanol myriad benefits over conventional fuels, GrainSpan purposefully chose it for its foray into clean energy, underscoring a commitment to advancing India’s energy autonomy and aligning with broader aspirations to reduce carbon footprints for restoring ecological balance.

Ethanol, derived from grains, is a clean and green energy source with the revolutionary potential to propel the nation as well as its people toward sustainable progress. Our grain-based ethanol plant in Gujarat boasts state-of-the-art technology. We produce 120KL of ethanol per day with an unparalleled purity at 99.6%, solidifying our role as leaders in a brighter, cleaner, and more secure future.

Why ethanol?

1

A sustainable fuel generated from biomass sources like rice, corn, and agricultural waste.

2

It can be used as a standalone fuel or blended fuel (by combining with petrol) in vehicles.

3

India’s current ethanol blend in petrol is 15% and it is projected to become 30% by 2030.

4

India’s current annual ethanol production is 700 crore liters and the required annual production is 1500 crore liters.

5

The use of ethanol can reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions by 30% as compared to pure petrol.
